  • Support our community families assisting to lead a Not for Profit organisation that delivers professional education and care programs during Out of School Hours (OOSH) and Vacation periods

  • Demonstrate your expertise in education and management by supporting and guiding a team of educators alongside the Director 

  • Utilise your strong communication and administration skills to effectively manage all aspects of this exceeding centre

  • Take charge of staffing ratios to ensure compliance and operational efficiency

  • Lead staff in successfully implementing our core values and mission

  • This is a part-time position with an immediate start

 

About our Centre

Our centre provides dynamic and enriching Out of School Hours (OOSH) and vacation care programmes designed to foster creativity and engagement among children. Supported by a collaborative team of dedicated educators and experienced Senior Leadership, we aim to enhance the development and well-being of all the children in our care.

 

The Role

 

As a vital member of our management team, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) regulations and standards. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage daily operations, including staffing ratios and NQF compliance.

  • Develop and implement centre policies and procedures in consultation with stakeholders.

  • Facilitate the NQF and Quality Improvement Plan and ensure adherence to Our Centre's and National Standards including the School Age Care Framework, My Time Our Place

  • Maintain administrative systems and records, reporting to the Parent Management Committee

  • Resolve parent concerns and oversee staff recruitment and training

  • Foster effective communication with parents, school officials, and community stakeholders

  • Promote Our Centre within the local community and collaborate with child development professionals

  • Create an environment which supports open communication, celebrates successes and recognises strong performance

  • Facilitate and assist with staff recruitment, adhering to Equal Employment Opportunity principles

  • Manage staff compliance with regards to Working with Children Checks, centre orientation, Child Protection Legislation and the Early Childhood Australia Code of Ethics

Leadership and Essential Skills

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Effective communication and emotional intelligence

  • Strong decision-making and conflict resolution abilities

  • Financial acumen and understanding of mandatory reporting 

  • Commitment to maintaining a culture of quality service and continuous learning

  • Experience in staff leadership and development, team-building and fostering a supportive and growth-oriented team environment

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Cert IV in Children’s Services or equivalent

  • Availability Monday to Friday, 2pm – 6:30pm

  • Minimum 12 months experience as an Assistant Director/Team Leader in childcare

  • Current Child Protection training, First Aid, Emergency Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis Training

  • Proven skills in program development, staff leadership, and compliance with childcare regulations
